|
Meinhardt Hong Kong Infrastructure and Environment team successfully transplanted a mature and large tree (Ficus Benjamina 垂葉榕) of about 13m height from Urban Council Centenary Garden (UCCG) near Granville Road to Mody Road.
The tree, with the total weight of 100 ton including the root ball and the supporting frame, was transported by a self-propelled modular transporter via the south bound of Chatham Road South which was fully closed in the mid night to facilitate the works.
Upon completion of this tree transplantation works in UCCG, the construction of a 25m depth underground structure of the proposed stormwater storage tank can be carried out in UCCG in full swing.
